ZenNotes is extremely easy to use.
 
If you can open your Lotus Notes calendar using a web browser, you can use ZenCal, ZenNotes, also with some login reverse proxy security.
This applications utilize https (SSL=ON) or http (SSL=OFF) protocol to retrieve your calendar, without any external server.

Calendar:
The time of calendar depends on the regional format.
The calendar includes a daily, weekly and monthly view.
You can add, edit or delete an event.
Your events can be classified into three categories, "Professional", "Personal" and "Others".
The events created in the application will be displayed with default calendar color from iPhone.
Choose Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Default Calendar > choose the default calendar you want to use, then tap Mail, Settings.
Different options are available, title, start and end hour, full day, location, repeat and alert.
Innovative function like default titles enable you to create new events faster.
You can create three types of event list : "Work", "Personal", "Others".
This makes it easier to add a new event.
The List option enables to display the month events in a list.
"Today" button permits to go back to the present day, week or month.
Export an event in iCal format (.ics-files) via email. That allows the receiver importing the event on iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Mac, without having installed ZenNotes.
Shows every imported calendar with the correspondent color, add different contacts to an event.
You can edit: title, start and end hour, full day, location, repeat and alert and list of participants.
Synchronize your calendar with your iPhone and Lotus Notes account.
Works with all iPhone supported calendars (Outlook, Google Calendar, Exchange, CalDAV).

Settings
Your Enterprise account and Calendar configuration:
Choose Settings > ZenNotes > Subsection Enterprise account > Lotus® Notes®, enter the different settings and tap ZenNotes > Subsection Calendar, enter the Name and tap Setttings.
 
 
For Lotus Notes:
UserId : your Lotus userid
Password :your Lotus password
Database USxxxxxx.nsf. It is the name of your database in Lotus.
We can find it in the Lotus preference server your Lotus server name.
We must have receive an email from your administrator with it (associated with an id.file)
 
Domain : your Lotus server name. We must have receive an email from your administrator with it.
If you don't retrieve it generally you can see it in the icon of your mail icon from your Lotus workspace,
or you can also find it in the synchronization menu associated to your mail.
 
Server name:

The most common question is usually the server name to use.

When you opened your Lotus Notes, set you on your Workspace (where you have all your application icons).

Find your inbox icon. Inside the mail icon, you should see your name.

Depending on the configuration done by your administrator, you may also have the short name of your mail server.

Then open a Command Prompt window and type "ping xxx", where xxx is the short name of your mail server.

You will get in response:

pinging xxx.aaa.bbb…….. .com or .fr .eu ..., depending on the area of your business.
for example : xxx.aaa.acme.com

It is this name should be written in the setting of the application ZenNotes in the field server.
 
 
There could be only one reason you did not have access: your Lotus Notes administrator did not give you permission to access your messages from an external web browser (your name was not added to the ACL, Access Control System).

To verify this, simply type in your prefered web browser the following link:

https://xxx.aaa.acme.com/names.nsf?Login (SSL=ON) or http://xxx.aaa.acme.com/names.nsf?Login (SSL=OFF).

with xxx.aaa.acme.com : the full name of your mail server found with the ping command.

You should get the welcome screen asking for your Lotus iNotes userid (username) and password (password).

 


Personal email in Basic configuration:
your personal email. If you want sent an invitation throw calendar event created for a personal usage, this is this email address which appear like organizer for the event. If you don't put it and also don't put Lotus notes address you'll don't be able to send mail for this event to participant.
 
Synchronization:
 
Your calendar is synchronize with your Lotus Notes Calendar on current and next month basis.
Synchronization is turn on each time you enter in Calendar menu.

You choose your calendar, day, week, and month.
The points are in different color, they indicate the different events:
Green indicates a "Work" events,
Blue indicates a "Personal" events,
Purple indicates an "Others" events,
Red indicates multiple events,
Black indicates indicates the event is on several days.

The red arrow indicates the present day.
If you select a day, it is circled in white and a blue window displays the events of this day.

Calendar Week
Select this icon
The color of the event depends on the calendar type.
Green indicates a "Work" calendar.
Blue indicates a "Personal" calendar.
Purple indicates an "Others" calendar.
Black indicates the event is on several days.
It is important to create calendars "Work", "Personal", "Others" in your iCal in your Mac. ( English)

You must have a perfect spelling in order to synchronize perfectly with your computer or your iPhone.
The small red line indicates full day, 2011 February 12.

Select a name
 
You can send an invitation to your contacts, indicating the choice "Optional" or "Requis".
 
You select a name. An email will be sent if the email address is entered.
 
 
You chose a name in the list, Hotel Ritz as Requis and Kelly John as optional.
An email will be sent to Hotel Ritz and Kelly John.

Deleting a name
 
You can delete a name in your invitation.
